In the Chilean desert of Atacama, at over 5000 meters above sea level, 66 synchronized antennas form ALMA, the largest astronomical observatory in the world.
In a joint venture involving the United States, Europe, and Japan, ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array) is aimed at investigating the origin of the universe and life.
In the next decade, Chile will have 70% of the world's astronomical observation capacity. And in 2015, UNESCO designated the northern part of our country as the world's first International Dark Sky Sanctuary.
